Venues for 2023
The Waves Festival is moving a few streets away again in 2023 and it is with a heavy heart that we leave the concert and conference halls of the WUK behind.
In 2022 we already played some of the well-known clubs on the Gürtel, which went down very well not only with the audience and the conference participants, but also with the acts.
That’s why we are further strengthening our live presence on the Gürtel with a few new venues and will be playing one of the oldest and at the same time most exciting concert halls, the Metropol, right next door in the 17th district.
For the conference we were able to win a very special location: Das West, known as an interim use project of the old WU in Vienna’s 9th district. This year we will be guests there with panels, workshops, networking, receptions and also the presentation of the XA – Export Awards. The XA – Export Award will also have a few new features. The six nominated artists will all perform on Thursday and Friday and on Saturday at 5:30 pm there will be an award ceremony in the West. More about this at a later date.
