New clothes from recycled fabrics
Refurbed has been a special supporter of our crowdfunding campaign and has taken on the presenting of the Ukraine focus.
»We are deeply shaken by the ongoing war against Ukraine. Also because colleagues and friends at refurbed are directly affected. With our commitment we want to set a sign of solidarity and support artists from Ukraine.«

Socially and ecologically sustainable consumption is a priority for the online platform refurbed. In addition to electronics, there is now a new product category: Fashion. At refurbed, they have understood that the climate crisis requires a rethinking of consumer behavior. The Austrian company has made a name for itself with sustainable, fully renewed electronics and has been on a remarkable growth trajectory since its founding in 2017. More than 18,000 products are already offered on the platform, including smartphones, laptops, wearables, household appliances, e-scooters and much more.

Alternative to fast fashion
Since May, refurbed has now launched a new product category, namely fashion. With the new offering, the company wants to make a lasting change to another “environmental offender industry” and offers an alternative to resource-wasting fast fashion.
Peter Windischhofer, co-founder of the online marketplace, who is now active in 13 countries, says: »The conventional textile industry creates gigantic environmental problems. That’s why we want to offer slow fashion producers a central platform through which the sustainable sale of new garments and accessories is possible.«
The benefits familiar from the electronics sector are retained for customers: more sustainable production, 30-day free return policy, free delivery and a tree planted for every product sold. In the case of refurbed fashion, the selected retailers also have to meet special quality criteria in order to offer their products on the platform – for example, proof of transparency throughout the entire supply chain and a minimum share of 50 percent recycled materials.

Fanklub, the new direct-to-fan platform for bands, presents four exciting acts on the Fanklub Stage:

Celia May grew up in the fog of the big German city and embraces us with her intimate electro-pop. Michael Moravek, on the other hand, is a songwriter of theatrical guise, bringing his lyrical folk to the Fanklub Stage in band formation. Local heroes are the progressive grunge rockers YATWA and the dadaistic lofi storytellers Olgas Boris.

We are looking forward to the musical diversity and an exciting Waves Festival!

Finally back – after two years of adapted versions, the traditional annual Warner Music Night in cooperation with Waves Vienna is back on stage at WUK Halle on September 8th!

For the 9th edition Warner Music Austria presents three extraordinary up and coming artists from Austria, Germany and Switzerland!

Live, September 8:
Lisa Pac, Wilhelmine, Priya Ragu

LISA PAC (Austria)

Across just a couple of singles since debuting in 2017, the Vienna-based singer, songwriter and producer has garnered several million Spotify streams, toured Europe and gained support from some of the unlikeliest places. Take Pete Doherty, for instance: the Babyshambles frontman loved her music so much, he personally approached her after seeing her play an open mic session in London, resulting in a couple of support shows for the iconic musician.

Lisa made her Warner debut in the spring of 2021 with the single “Boring,” followed by “Shoutout” and the debut EP “What If…?!” in September. Exploring different relationship situations and the impact they have on our lives, the EP’s concept was also reflected in the artwork displaying six images of Lisa, each one representing another “What If..?!” option.

With “Work Of Art” she released new music this year and calls it “the beginning of a new era for me”. The single “Bedroom” followed this summer.

Recognizing her outstanding talent, Lisa Pac was nominated as “Songwriter of the Year” for “Boring” at the “Austrian Grammys”, the 2022 Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.

PRIYA RAGU (Switzerland)

Priya Ragu started 2022 by being shortlisted in the BBC Sound Poll and named as an Amazon Music Breakthrough Artist

Priya Ragu’s back story is just as fascinating as her music. She was born in Switzerland after her parents fled Sri Lanka’s civil war in the early ‘80s, but they constantly connected her to the culture of her homeland. As she grew up, Priya was equally inspired by western pop – the Fugees, Brandy, Nina Simone, and more – but kept her musical ambitions hidden due to her parents’ initial disapproval. Eventually, however, she couldn’t hold back any longer. Mentored by the American rapper Oddisee, Priya dedicated herself to her music and earned international attention for ‘Good Love 2.0’.

Priya’s rise continued with a succession of acclaimed singles leading up to the release of her mixtape ‘damnshestamil’. She also became one of the first two artists to ever feature on a track by the iconic production duo Jungle, who she opened for at four large UK shows including 2 nights at O2 Academy Brixton. She subsequently completed a UK headline tour that included a sold-out London show at the Jazz Café as well as festivals such as All Points East, the Montreux Jazz Festival and Eurosonic.

WILHELMINE (Germany)

“Lived diversity” – if anyone knows the meaning of this term, it´s Wilhelmine. Growing up in an occupied house in Berlin-Kreuzberg and in Wendland, she experiences a wide variety of life forms from an early age on: “I think that made me open and courageous to get in touch with people. And relatively early on put the idea in my head: no matter who and what I want to be: I can be it”.

In her previous songs she has shown a lot of courage: her first single “meine Liebe” addressed her coming-out; in “Du” she sings about alcohol addiction inside the closest family circle and “solange du dich bewegst” is about the step to self-love. All songs are part of her debut EP “komm wie du bist” (2020).

Last year, Wilhelmine was one of the few artists to be comprehensively highlighted by Amazon Music as part of its major Pride Month campaign. On this year’s International Women’s Day (March 8), she was highlighted as “German pop poet” by Apple Music.

On October 28 Wilhelmine will release her debut album “Wind”, including the singles “besonders“, “an all diesen tagen” and “black Renault“. On September 25 Wilhelmine and her band start the second part of their “Herz, W. Tour 2022“, with dates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
